The Friends of Jesmond Dene are a conservation society pledged to work for the protection of the area. Working in close co-operation with Newcastle City Council, under whose authority the Dene is maintained, the Friends exist to stimulate public interest in everything concerning the Dene: the conservation and encouragement of wildlife; planting of trees and shrubs; and the local history of the famous families who have lived in or close to Jesmond Dene.
Membership of the Friends is open to anyone,
anywhere: members receive twice-yearly newsletters covering matters of
local interest and giving full details of the talks and other activities arranged for
members. For those now living away from Tyneside we try
to keep them in touch with efforts to preserve the Dene in good shape
until they can come back in person to visit it once again.
The annual subscription for the financial year (1st
January to 31st December) is £3.00 per family (or £2
for those over 60). If you would like to join, please
print and complete the form and send it with your
subscription to the address given. Thank you for your
support.
The Dene is YOUR garden. It needs your support. Please join the Friends of Jesmond Dene.
