It’s still a bit nippy outside and the birds may need our help with a little extra food, so come along to make a wooden bird feeder to take home and get some tips on how to feed the birds in your garden. National Nest Box Week
(Walks at 9.30 – 11am and 1pm – 2.30pm)

Charge for Bird boxes is £4, bird feeder £2.50, bird walk £1 and the craft activities are free.
Come and join the parks staff and volunteers on this bird themed day as part of National Nest Box week. You can make a bird box or a bird feeder to take home with you. There will also be craft activities and two bird walks to choose from throughout the day. Booking for the bird walk is essential. Please bring binoculars for the walk if you have them but some will be available if not. The bird box/feeder and craft activity will be running all day and is drop in. We will be running fun bike skills games for 4-7 year olds (1-2pm) and 8-11 year olds (2.15pm-3.15pm) to improve their confidence and competency on a bike.

Tree Trail and Campfire

Join us for a fun trail around Heaton Park with activities and stories all about trees. Followed by a fire in the woods, some simple campfire refreshments whilst learning to light a fire.
Activities are aimed at 7 – 13 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate clothes for being outdoors in the woods.
